Fisherman That Drowned In Cileungsi River Found

JAKARTA - Head of the Jakarta SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) Search and Rescue Office, Hendra Sudirman, said the search process by the joint SAR team in Cileungsi River finally managed to find Edi Suryadi (35), a fisherman looking for fish who had drowned.

"The drowning victim in Cileungsi River was finally found by the joint SAR team on Tuesday, November 9, noon," said Hendra when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, November 9.

The victim was found dead at around 11.13 a.m. Edi was found not far around the scene and immediately evacuated to the funeral home.

"This evacuation is thanks to the synergy of the joint SAR team, finally we can immediately find the victim and immediately hand it over to the family," said the man as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in the SAR operation.

The search was carried out by a joint SAR team by dividing the area into two SRUs. The first SRU conducted a search using a Rubber Boat with a distance of 10 KM from the incident location, then the second SRU conducted a visual search of the land route with a distance of 5 KM from the incident location.

Previously, it was reported that Edi Suryadi (35), a fisherman looking for fish in Cileungsi River, Bogor Regency, went missing after he fell into the river. The victim is believed to have drowned in the strong current of the river.

The incident began when the victim was fishing with a friend using a homemade boat in the Cileungsi River. On the way home, the victim tried to stop the boat by holding a bamboo on the riverbank, so that he fell into the stream.

Friends of the victim tried to help but to no avail. As of Tuesday, November 9, morning, the search for victims was still ongoing. The victim's body was found on Tuesday afternoon.
