Semarang Police Chief: Register To Be Police Is Free, No Need To Sell Rice Field Or Cows
JAKARTA - The acceptance of prospective police officers is guaranteed to be transparent and there are no illegal fees. This is because the National Police has prepared a Whistle Blowing System (WBS) and Clear and Clean Betah application that can be used to monitor the selection process.
Launching jatengprov.go.id, Semarang Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant Yovan Fatika Handhiska Aprilaya said this at the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the Resort Police and the Semarang Regency Government to conduct coaching and training for interested high school students, at the local Regent's Office Pendapa, Monday, 8 November.
He said that with this application, the test scores obtained by prospective police officers can be monitored. This openness applies to the selection of prospective Police Academy students, non-commissioned officers education, as well as special education for Brimob and Polairud enlisted men.
"The police list does not charge a penny. So there is no need to sell rice fields or cows to become a member of the police,” he said.

According to him, the issue of brokers who want to help become members of the police still exists among the residents. However, he ensured that all stages of the selection were carried out in a clean, transparent, accountable, and humane (Betah) manner.
Regarding the signing of the memorandum of understanding, the police chief said that his party would provide guidance and training for students to be ready to face the selection process, both in terms of physical, ideological, academic, and other related aspects. In collaboration with the Education Office, students who have the potential to pass the selection will be recorded.
Then, he continued, a special team was formed to conduct the initial selection and prepare them for the next selection process.
"So that later those who have been selected at the beginning will be able to compete with participants from other regions," he said.
The Chief of Police hopes that this step of coaching and training can produce qualified candidates for police officers.
The Regent of Semarang, Ngesti Nugraha, hopes that this collaboration can help the younger generation to become qualified and humanist members of the police.
