JAKARTA - PT KAI (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta has prepared Material Equipment for Standby (AMUS) at a number of points. The selected locations are points that are considered vulnerable from the impact of extreme weather.

"This effort is a form of prioritizing safety and realizing a smooth and controlled train journey," said Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Eva Chairunisa in a written statement received in Jakarta, Monday, November 8.

The AMUS prepared by PT KAI will reach vulnerable locations in the event of obstacles due to extreme weather such as floods and landslides.

Materials that have been prepared include ballast stone, rail pads, sand, sacks, iron (for bridges), rail fastening equipment, and other standby equipment that have been placed at 28 points in the Daop 1 area of Jakarta.

"Extra monitoring and checking are also carried out by track inspectors in a number of locations prone to flooding and landslides," said Eva.

In addition, anticipation is also carried out through checking and cleaning as well as normalizing water channels in the railway line area.

PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta urges the public to care and participate in protecting the environment around the rail line so that the operation of the transportation journey can run smoothly and safely.

"People are also advised not to throw garbage, do activities or create illegal crossings around the railway line," she said.

Finally, PT KAI invites the public to report to the nearest officer if they see things that could endanger the safety of train travel.
