Gianyar Bali Regency Government Makes Sure To Build A Mall In The Former Hardys Building

GIANYAR - The Gianyar Regency Government, Bali, has confirmed that it will build a mall building in the former Hardys supermarket building to follow up on the plan.

The Gianyar Regent Made Mahayastra together with the related OPD and a team of experts confirmed this after holding a meeting in the Gianyar Regent's office.

Previously, the Mahayastra Regent stated the mall development plan following a report from the Regional Secretary (as regional property manager/user of assets and goods) regarding the Gianyar Regency Government's assets, namely the former Hardys building not being utilized after the end of the contract period last January.

Following up on the regent's plan, the Regional Secretary formed a team consisting of relevant OPDs, also involving economists and legal experts.

After the meeting, Regent Made Mahayastra explained that the former Hardys building contract had been completed in January 2021. With the completion of the contract period, the Gianyar Regency Government made plans to build a new building on the land.

"The plan is already in place, the former Hardys mall will be built in which there will be a public service mall, restaurants including parking," said Mahayastra Regent, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 7.

The mall building will be as magnificent as the Gianyar People's Market which will soon be handing over the work.

The Regent of Mahayastra also explained that the auction process for the demolition of the building had also been carried out.

"The tender process for the demolition of the building was carried out last Friday, there was already a winner with a bid value of more than Rp.851 million, no later than Tuesday tomorrow the payment must have been made by the person concerned and the money entered the regional treasury," he explained.

The demolition will last for 40 days from November 12, 2021. After the demolition process is complete, it will be followed by a construction tender.

He explained that the construction and management of the mall will use the Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) system. BOT is a form of cooperation agreement between the holder of land rights and investors, which states that the holder of land rights gives the investor the right to construct buildings during the period of the BOT agreement.

In addition, it is regulated about transferring ownership of the building to the holder of land rights during the construction period for the end of the handover.

"With this construction for handover, we can determine the designation of the building, which we can arrange in the tender document, different from the usual lease," said Regent Mahayastra.

He hopes that Gianyar can progress economically and the people of Gianyar can enjoy entertainment like in other big cities.

"So later Gianyar residents will no longer need to go to Denpasar to be able to go to the mall or just watch a movie," added the regent.
