2 Warehouse Employees In Bali Steal Hundreds Of Bottles Of Jack Daniel's Alcohol To Black Label For IDR 500 Million

DENPASAR - The Denpasar, Bali Police Team arrested two people named Arga Septianto (30) and Andi Widianto (38) for stealing hundreds of bottles of alcoholic beverages at the PT Dufrindo Internasional warehouse, Badung Regency. These hundreds of bottles of alcohol cost up to Rp. 500 million.

"Securing two perpetrators of theft of alcoholic beverages. The perpetrators are employees," said Head of Public Relations of Denpasar Police Iptu I Ketut Sukadi, Sunday, November 7.

The theft of alcohol worth half a billion rupiah was carried out repeatedly from July to October. The theft was uncovered when company managers checked goods at a logistics warehouse on Thursday, November 4.

When checked on the system, there were 6,474 bottles, while the physical staff only had 6,134 bottles of alcohol from various brands from Black Label to Jack Daniel's.

There is a difference of 340 bottles with an estimated loss of around Rp. 500 million with an estimated price of drinks per bottle from Rp. 1 million to Rp. 3 million.

"For this incident, the complainant then reported the incident to the officers for further legal proceedings," added Sukadi.

From the report, the police checked CCTV footage and found the events of the Innova entering the car on October 23 and October 30.

From the investigation, the perpetrator was identified as Arga Septianto. In the initial examination, the perpetrator admitted to stealing with Andi Widianto. The two perpetrators were arrested on Friday, November 5 at noon.

Both perpetrators were warehouse employees and admitted to consecutive thefts using warehouse keys from July 2021 to October. The loot is consumed and sold to a person named Bela who is still being investigated by the police.

From this case, the police confiscated 28 bottles of stolen alcohol, including a car to transport the stolen alcohol.

"The price of each bottle is sold for around Rp. 500 thousand and the proceeds from the sale are used for car installments and daily needs," said Sukadi.
