Positive Cases In Indramayu Down, Minister Of Home Affairs Tito Calls PPKM Success

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian stated that the decline in the positive case (positivity rate) of COVID-19 in Indramayu Regency, West Java, was one proof of the success of the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM).

Minister of Home Affairs Tito said positive cases of COVID-19 had relatively decreased after the PPKM and this was proven to have decreased from last week from level 4 to level 3 for Indramayu.

"This is a good, positive thing that needs to be continued and may be a model for other regions," Tito said in his statement received in Jakarta, reported by Anatara, Wednesday, July 28.

It is known, in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 24 of 2021, Indramayu Regency is one of the regions in West Java Province, which is designated as an area with the implementation of PPKM level 3.

Not only that, Indramayu Regency in strengthening its testing is targeted to meet the testing of 3,762 people per day.

"Availability of beds, BOR is also 50 percent less, meaning that there is a willingness even though there are efforts to add places, convert beds for COVID-19 sufferers and then stricter efforts in PPKM upstream," he said. The fatality rate or death due to COVID-19 is still above 3 percent, this figure is lower than the previous death rate. However, the Minister of Home Affairs asked the Indramayu Regency Government not to be negligent in controlling the pandemic.

This was also responded by the Regent of Indramayu, Nina Agustina, who was committed to being serious about controlling the outbreak.

"Perhaps the death rate is still high, we also hope that the community can be more disciplined so that everything can be controlled better," said Regent Nina.
