JAKARTA - The government denies that Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation contradicts the 1945 Constitution.
"Declaring Law Number 11 Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation does not conflict with the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia," said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto as President Joko Widodo's proxy (Jokowi) in the Formal Examination Session of the Employment Image Law at the Constitutional Court (MK), Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday 17 June.
The government also requested that the Constitutional Court (MK) accept the president's statement in its entirety, state that the applicant has no legal standing, and reject the request for a formal review of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation against the 1945 Constitution.
Coordinating Minister Airlangga said that the issuance of the Job Creation Law was intended to provide legal certainty protection and the fulfillment of citizens' rights to obtain jobs and a decent living as an association and assembly.
"As guaranteed in the provisions of Article 27 Paragraph 2 Article 28 Article 28c Paragraph 2 Article 28d Paragraph 1 and Paragraph 2 of the 1945 Constitution," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
