Rajabasa Terminal Will Use GeNose To Detect COVID-19

JAKARTA - Rajabasa Main Terminal in Bandarlampung, Lampung Province, will immediately use GeNose C19 for travelers. This is to detect COVID-19 early.

"Of course we are grateful for the assistance of the GeNose C19 tool from the central government, because this can help travelers detect COVID-19 early," said Rajabasa Main Terminal Head Herri Indarto, in Bandarlampung, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 16.

He said that prioritized travelers will receive the GeNose C19 test, namely those who are considered vulnerable to exposure to COVID-19, such as children or the elderly.

"We just randomly checked it, but the priority is children and the elderly," he said again.

He said the results of early detection of COVID-19 using the GeNose tool could be known within two minutes, and the accuracy rate was up to 90 percent.

"Once again, this is for early detection of COVID-19. So before being examined, travelers will be asked to fast 30 minutes before testing with GeNose," he also said.

Herri said that the test results with the GeNose tool were only valid for 1x24 hours, so they could not be used for other purposes.

"So if the detection is negative or vice versa, they can retest with GeNose again or with a rapid test or PCR to confirm it," he said.

However, he said that the problem with using the GeNose tool was that the air bags used for checking were currently only given 300 pcs.

"The question is at the pharmacy whether there are air pockets or not," he said again.

On the other hand, he also said that his party would not yet close the terminal or block vehicles because it was still waiting for further directions from the central government.
