Google Indonesia Adds AI Curriculum To The 2024 Awakening Program

JAKARTA - Along with the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology around the world, Google Indonesia and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) announced that the 2024 Rise program will be equipped with an AI curriculum.

In his announcement of Managing Director of Google Indonesia, Randy Jusuf said in his blog that this AI curriculum will be available on three of its learning lines, namely Cloud, Android, and Machine Learning.

We are very happy with the addition of AI training to the 2024 Bangkit curriculum to equip students with AI basics. AI is one of the most transformative technologies of our time, and preparing talented local human resources is the key to opening up these opportunities," Randy said, quoted Monday, November 20.

Rise has been running for approximately the last three years. Since this program began in 2020, this program has grown 30 times. To date, Google has managed to train more than 15,000 students from all over Indonesia.

We continue to strive to improve the diversity of participants. This program provides high-quality training relevant to industries in machine learning, mobile development, and cloud computing, all of which are valuable digital skills," he added.

With the Ministry as a partner, Randy said that Google Indonesia is committed to building this expertise, while prioritizing responsibility.

Acting Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Nizam also welcomed the opening of wider opportunities for students to take part in the Bangkit program as part of the Merdeka Campus. Moreover, with the addition of the AI curriculum which will further support student competence in the field of digital technology.

We appreciate the addition of the AI curriculum in this Bangkit program. This is in line with the government's vision to prepare superior digital talents in the future. Human resources with Artificial Intelligence competencies are very important and needed by industry," said Nizam.

Not only following 900 hours of technology lessons, Bangkit participants also received soft skills and English training. The combination of theory and practice in the Bangkit curriculum is expected to produce superior talents that accelerate Indonesia's digital transformation into the future.
