Different From Others, Hashtag Features In Threads Use Hyperlink System

JAKARTA Mark Zuckerberg announced a new feature they are testing on THreads. This feature is similar to a hashtag, but does not use a fence like on other platforms.

The appearance of this hashtag or hashtag is actually quite interesting because Threads uses a Hyperlink system that makes the text change color. Later, the text for the hashtag will turn blue.

Usually, on platforms like X or Instagram, users will add hashtags at the end of their caption or tweets. Unlike Threads, users can combine text and hashtags without being disturbed by a fence.

To add hashtags, how to use them is the same as other platforms. Users must type the fence in the upload text field with the desired word. After that, the hashtag will disappear and turn into Hyperlink.

When typing the word for the hashtag, users will get a number of words with similar topics. At the bottom of the recommendation topic, Threads will show the number of uploads that have used the hashtag.

Another difference between hashtags on Threads and other platforms is the limit of use. Each user can only add one topic for hashtags in each upload. Each of these topics can only be used once at a time.

This policy is implemented to limit uploads that have the potential to be pam. Therefore, when a user taps on a hyperlink word, they can see relevant topics without being disturbed by post-pam like what happened in X.

Currently, the hashtag feature is still undergoing limited testing in Australia before being rolled out globally to a number of countries. Zuckerberg has not been able to confirm when this feature will be released, but he said the feature would be coming soon.
