JAKARTA - In mid-August, Google sent emails to many Gmail users that they would start deleting unused accounts in December this year.

Google accounts that are classified as inactive are accounts that are not used for login or are not used in all Google applications for two years. Not only accounts, Google will also delete the data stored in them.

From the Makeuseof report, Google deliberately deleted an inactive account as a security measure. The reason is, accounts that have not been used for a long time usually use outdated passwords so they are easy to hack.

What's more, these accounts don't log in regularly and don't update security so hackers will easily enter their accounts. If the hacker manages to log in, the user's sensitive information will be stolen.

In addition to improving security, inactive accounts also drain Google's maintenance funds. Although it doesn't spend much money, deleting an account remains the best option for Google at this time.

If you are worried about deleting this account, just log back into your Google account before December 2023. Log into your Google account regularly so that the timefractor is not active.

Although Google states that all unused accounts will be deleted, there are several accounts they exclude. They will not delete accounts that are commonly used to buy products, applications, or services from Google.

Google will also not delete accounts that have published applications or games, accounts for active minor account managers, and accounts for purchasing digital items such as movies or books.
