Zebra Fish Will Soon Become A New Space Resident, Accompany Chinese Astronauts In Tiangong

JAKARTA - The zebrafish will soon become residents of new space, which will be brought by Chinese astronauts to the Tiangong Space Station.

According to the country's online media Guancha, China's assistant commander-in-chief of the manned space application system, Zhang Wei said the small fish species would be sent to Tiangong with the aim of researching interactions between advertising and microorganisms in a small closed ecosystem.

Moreover, this experiment will also help research on bones in astronauts. The zebra fish are a species of freshwater surnamed Danio, known as the Danio rario.

This freshwater aquarium fish comes from Asia, which is small with a length of about 4 cm and is wrapped in dark blue and silver lines.

Unfortunately, Wei did not reveal when the zebra fish would be launched and how to address its water equipment. However, China is not a pioneer country that sends freshwater species into space.

Previously, the American Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) in 2012 had sent Japanese native medata advertisements to the International Space Station (ISS).

The medaki fish are accommodated in NASA's Waters Habitat or AQH, which is designed to learn how microgravity impacts marine life.
