JAKARTA - Meta Platform Inc. finally launched the Beta program of the Threads app, to give users initial access to new features, and report them to development in case of bugs.

"For Android users who like to live on the spearhead, list for our beta below. New features and bug fixes will come here first, but you also have to accept a bigger risk increase built which is unstable from before," wrote app Engineer Threads in a thread on Friday, July 7th.

If you join this Beta program, then you will see a new feature before the public sees it. You can also provide your input to developers to help them upgrade the app.

"You can exit the beta at any time. Certain data on application usage by you will be collected and shared with developers to help improve the app," Meta wrote.

You can register for beta access now, as there is no waiting list. That is, anyone with Android devices can enter the program and try the upcoming version.

Threads is a new app under Instagram, which is Twitter's rival social media.

As of Friday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that Threads already has 70 million registrants since its launch. Even though Threads have only been available for two days, this platform has caught Twitter's attention.

Because Elon Musk's social media company threatened legal action against Threads and accused Meta of hunting down former Twitter employees to create a new platform.
