Ole Romeny Enthusiastically Welcomes Debut In The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA Ole Romeny was so enthusiastic about welcoming his debut match with the Indonesian national team in the 2026 World Cup Qualification match against Australia.

Indonesia has called a total of 29 players to face the match. All names, including Ole, are currently joining the team in Sydney and have held their first training on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, WIB night.

Ole, who just received Indonesian citizenship in February 2025, is very happy to be part of the Patrick Kluiver squad. He also wants to make a contribution when he plays his debut match later.

"I'm really looking forward to the match against Australia. I want to be an important player for the team, the country, and be able to give my best through football," Ole said as quoted by ESPN Netherlands.

Ole will fill the position in the Garuda Squad attack line. As the spearhead, he is also expected to be a threat in front of the opposing team's goal later.

It is possible that the Oxford United player will have minutes to play against Australia later. He has a big chance of being trusted to play from the first minute.

"However, who is in the line-up, it is not my decision. Most importantly, I am here and I can't wait to play for Indonesia," said Ole.

Australia hosting Indonesia is the seventh match of Group C of the Third Round of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualifiers.

This clash will take place at the Sydney Football Stadium on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The kick-off of the match will start at 20.00 local time or 16.10 WIB.

This match is important for both teams to keep the chance to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Currently Australia occupies second place in the standings with seven points, followed by Indonesia in third place with six points.

Only group winners and runners-up get tickets to the 2026 World Cup from this stage. The third and fourth positions will proceed to the Fourth Round of Qualification.
