F1 Las Vegas 2023 Results: Through The Fierce Race, Max Verstappen Secures The 18th Victory

JAKARTA - Red Bull Racing racer Max Verstappen managed to get out to be the fastest in the Formula 1 (F1) race in Las Vegas. This victory is the 18th time in the 2023 season. In the race which took place at the Las Vegas Street Circuit on Sunday, November 19 at noon WIB. Verstappen won 2,070 seconds from Charles Leclerc, who followed from second place. While the third podium was occupied by Sergio Perez. Verstappen's journey in F1 this season has been fairly smooth. Of the 21 races he had, he managed to score 18 wins, occupyed the second podium twice and once ranked fifth. From this victory, Verstappen has now pocketed 549 points. Verstappen came out victorious after touching the fastest finish line after eating 50 laps. "I think it's created quite a lot of racing here, so it's really fun. I hope everyone enjoys it a little bit, already excited to come back here next year!,” said Verstappen after the race. Before finally locking up the first podium, Verstappen had a fierce match. The race on the first lap even started with an incident that occurred at the first corner. A number of racers namely Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, and Valtteri Botas were affected by the collision. On the eighth lap, Verstappen was awarded a five-second penalty for keeping Charles Leclerc off the track at the start of the race. Verstappen's penalty with Leclerc was only about 2.038 seconds. Entering the 36th lap, fierce competition took place between Sergio Perez and Leclerc. However, Leclerc was finally able to get past Perez to lead the race, then one lap later the race position was taken over by Verstappen who passed Perez and Leclerc. The success of winning the first position made Verstappen continue to be comfortable in the leading position. Fierce competition actually occurred to fight for the runner-up position. Perez was able to take second place as the Ferrari car driven by Leclerc widened on lap 43.

The effort by the Monaco racer to hunt down Perez paid off because Leclerc was able to get past Perez on the final lap. Verstappen was able to finish first followed by Leclerc, while Perez occupied the last podium.
