2023 U-17 World Cup Results: Iran Gebuk Kamedonia Baru 5-0

Reza Ghandipour contributed one goal to Iran's U-17 victory against New U-17 Caledonia in Group C of the 2023 U-17 World Cup (doc. FIFA).

JAKARTA Iran U-17 closed the Group C phase match of the 2023 U-17 World Cup with a 5-0 victory over New Caledonia at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium on Friday, November 17, 2023 evening WIB.

Iran U-17 opened the tap for their goal through Amirmohammad Razzaghinia in the 17th minute. The player belonging to KIA FC beat the opposing goalkeeper after continuing Mahan Sadeghi's pass.

Ismaeil Gholizadeh had the chance to double the score in the 25th minute when he was trusted to execute a penalty. However, his shot hit the post.

Amirmohammad then scored his second goal in this match in the 34th minute. After that, Reza Ghandipour added to the score of Iran U-17 in the 76th minute using a pass from Yaghoub Barajeh.

The next two goals complement the Iranian U-17 party occurred in extra time for the second half. Both were born from Mohammad Askari's feet and (90+5) and Kasra Taheri (90+8), respectively.

This result makes Iran U-17 collect six points and sit in third place in the standings. They fill the place behind Brazil U-17 which is second and England U-17 as group winners.

Finishing third makes Iran U-17 still qualify for the knockout stages. They get allotment through the third best position.

Apart from Iran U-17, Japan U-17 and Uzbekistan U-17 also got tickets. There is still one more ticket for the four best third-placed teams that can be obtained by Indonesia U-17, Mexico U-17, or South Korea U-17.
