Shift Tottenham Hotspur, But Arsenal Can't Drop Man City

JAKARTA - Arsenal are again heating up the competition after winning 3-1 over Burnley in the English Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium, Saturday, November 11 evening WIB. Arsenal successfully shifted Tottenham and moved up to second place. They have not been able to bring Manchester City down from the throne of the standings.

Arsenal came back to winning after a consecutive defeat. After slaughtering Sheffield United 5-0, Arsenal were then defeated by West Ham United 3-1 in London Derby. They lost 1-0 again against the host of the Newcastle United Group.

But the Gunners managed to break that bad trend and won again when they hosted Burnley.

The result made Arsenal move up to second by pocketing the 27. Same as Man City, but they still lost the goal difference.

This made Arsenal fail to shift The Cityzens. However, Arsenal can already remove the next neighbor, Tottenham, who lost 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Man City itself has the opportunity to stay away from Arsenal's pursuit if they win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Sunday, December 13 evening WIB.

Meanwhile, Burnley is getting worse in the relegation zone. The defeat saved them from fixing their position as well as getting out of the red zone. Burnley is in 19th place with four points. The same with Sheff. United who occupy the bottom of the standings.

Responding to the team's performance and victory, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was satisfied. The reason is, the team is able to dominate the opponent who is difficult to control.

"I am happy with this result, especially the performance of the team. We can dominate opponents who have been difficult to dominate," said Arteta.

"From the whole game, we completely deserved to win it," he said again.

Meanwhile, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany admitted that the team had difficulty dealing with Arsenal. According to him, Arsenal is able to show performances with impressive teamwork.

"We faced a fantastic team. How did Mikel build the team was really extraordinary," said Kompany.

"If you look at the performance of our team, it must be admitted that we depend on other factors such as luck or if there is a moment from the player," he said.

In that match, despite Arsenal's win, it actually had difficulty playing Burnley. Even the hosts were only able to break into the opponent's goal through Leandro Trossard towards the end of the first half.

The goal started when there was chaos in front of Burnley's goal. Bukayo Saka headed the ball which baited Trossard.

The ball was then headed by Trossard towards the opponent's goal. Arsenal also closed the first half with a 1-0 advantage.

However, Arsenal could not maintain that advantage. When the second half had only been running for a few minutes, Burnley managed to equalize the score through Josh Brownhill. A goal was created in the 54th minute when Brownhill fired a shot that left goalkeeper David Raya helpless.

But this North London club quickly got up. Three minutes later, William Saliba put Arsenal ahead again. He successfully completed the assist from Trossard.

Furthermore, defender Oleksandr Zinchenko who took advantage of the wild ball after Burnley's player failed to remove the ball from a corner solidified Arsenal's win after scoring in the 74th minute. The score changed to 3-1.

Towards the end of the match, Arsenal had to play with 10 men following the expulsion of midfielder Fabio Vieira.

The violation he committed in the 83rd minute was that Vieira received a direct red card. Despite losing a player, Arsenal managed to maintain a 3-1 advantage until the end of the match.
