JAKARTA The Indonesian national team's steps in the 2023 Asian Games football branch were stopped in the round of 16. Garuda Muda narrowly lost 0-2 to Uzbekistan in a match at the Shangcheng Sport Center Stadium, Thursday afternoon, September 28.

The match was tough for 90 minutes. Both teams did not manage to break into the opponent's goal. The presence of Ramadhan Sananta to strengthen Indonesia's front line turned out to be fruitless as expected.

After 90 minutes of still 0-0, the Uzbekistan vs Indonesia duel continued in an extension of 2 x 15 minutes. In this extra time round, Uzbekistan managed to excel. Two goals from Uzbekistan were scored by Sherzod Esanov in the 92' and 120'+1 minutes.

Until the final whistle sounded, the situation lasted 0-2 for Uzbekistan. Indonesia also ran aground, failing to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asian Games which was held in Hangzhou, China.
