Ivar Jenner's Girangnya Can Score First Goal For Indonesia

JAKARTA The player of the Indonesian U-23 national team, Ivar Jenner, was so happy that he was able to score his first goal for the team in the U-23 Asian Cup Qualification.

Ivar recorded the goal when Indonesia won 2-0 over Turkmenistan in the final Group K qualifying match at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Central Java, Tuesday, September 12 evening WIB.

"I think it's a really good game and I'm very happy to be scoring to make the score 1-0," Ivar said as quoted by Antara.

Ivar scored in the 40th minute with a shot from outside the box. The ball from his shot slid hard into the opposing player and turned to outwit the goalkeeper.

The score continued his slick performance as in the inaugural match against China Taipei last weekend. At that time he recorded two assists for goals from Witan Sulaeman and Marselino Ferdinand.

"I think Turkmenistan is a better opponent than Chinese Taipei. We showed a good game," said Ivar.

Another winning goal in the match against Turkmenistan was scored by Pratama Arhan in the extra minutes of the second half.

This victory made Indonesia the group winner and automatically qualified for the U-23 Asian Cup finals for the first time in history since this tournament was held for the first time in the 2013 edition of Oman.

The U-23 Asian Cup will take place from April 15, 2024 to May 3, 2024 in Qatar. A total of 16 teams will play in this prestigious event.
