JAKARTA - Heavyweight boxer Jarrell Miller was offered to be Anthony Joshua (AJ)'s next opponent. That was after AJ's negotiations against Dillian Whyte failed.

AJ and Whyte previously held negotiations to fight on August 12. However, Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, confirmed that the two boxers failed to reach an agreement.

According to a SkySport report, the halt of negotiations between the two British fighters led promoter Miller, Dmitriy Salita, to offer his client to fight Joshua.

Miller from America has previously missed the opportunity to challenge AJ to fight for the world title in 2019 after an embarrassing drug scandal.

He then received a contract with Bob Arum's Top Rank gym. However, again tested positive for using prohibited substances so that he had to accept a two-year ban on boxing.

After serving the sentence, Miller took another VADA test which restored his license in Las Vegas. He has returned in four professional fights since then and one exhibition match.

Meanwhile, Joshua, 33, will return to fight this summer. The fight is to prepare for the super fight in Saudi Arabia against Deontay Wilder, 37.

Apart from Miller, AJ also has the possibility of fighting European champions Agit Kabayel, 30. Hearn himself has confirmed the name. "[Agit Kabayel] may be on the long list," he said.

"Whoever is in the top fifteen. I don't mind being honest. AJ will fight Deontay Wilder in December. That is our 100 percent focus.

"And it's hard to fight an elite boxer, three of the top five boxers when you're going against Deontay Wilder four months later," he added.
