JAKARTA - Indonesian mixed doubles, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas managed to secure a place in the last 16 of the Indonesia Open 2023. This certainty was achieved after winning over French representatives, Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue in two straight games ending 21-14 and 21-15.

Appearing at Istora Senayan on Wednesday, June 14 afternoon, Rinov/Pitha were left behind in the early points, but these mixed doubles were able to catch up with each point created by Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue.

Rinov/Pitha got hot when they entered point 8-9, their efforts continued to bear fruit because Pitha several times managed to reverse with a hard blow until the advantage turned around for Indonesia. In the first interval, Rinov/Pitha were able to prove their advantage with points 11-9.

After the break, Rinov/Pitha took advantage in the first interval to stay away from Thom/Delphine. Rinov/Pitha continued to achieve advantages, while the French pair could only add two points from the first interval with a score of 12-18.

Only one point left to lead to the advantage of the first game, the move was tackled with an additional two points from the opponent, but finally the first game belonged to Rinov/Pitha who won 21-14.

The lead point in the first game was not used properly by Rinov / Pitha, because in the second game they were even left behind from Thom / Delphine. Several times the shuttlecock's return that hit the net left Indonesia behind, until the second interval became owned by France with a score of 11-7.

After the Rinov/Pitha pause tried to catch up by adding two points, the situation again brought benefits to Indonesia because the challenge out requested by Pitha was successful and brought 10-12 points. From that moment, Indonesia continued to shot up until it entered crucial points 19-14.

Two points towards victory, Rinov/Pitha's appearance became more convincing, one hard blow from France's representative was deliberately missed and became a point 20-14. Certainty to advance to the round of 16 was then won by Rinov/Pitha via a shuttlecock that failed to get past the net from Treasurer, the final score 21-15 for Indonesia.

The success of Rinov/Pitha is the opening step for the Indonesian representatives in the last 16 of the Indonesia Open 2023, because Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, who appeared earlier, ran aground in the opening match.
