2023 AFF U-23 Cup Draw Results: Hot! Indonesian National Team One Group With Malaysia

JAKARTA - The Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) has finished holding a draw or draw for the 2023 AFF U-23 Cup, Monday, May 29 afternoon WIB. Based on the draw results, the Indonesian national team is included in Group B.

Having been absent in the previous edition in Cambodia due to the COVID-19 wave, the Garuda squad is now ready to fight. The Indonesian national team will face Malaysia and Timor Leste in Group B.

Group A is the one who has the most participants. Group A is inhabited by four countries, namely Thailand, Cambodia, Brunei Darussalam, and Myanmar.

While in Group C there are defending champions Vietnam, the Philippines, and Laos who are ranked third in the previous edition.

Having three groups, the four teams that qualify for the semifinals will be determined through three group winners and one best runner-up. Reflecting on the 2022 AFF U-23 Cup edition in Cambodia, Group A, which is inhabited by four teams, will only send the group winners to advance to the semifinals.

The 2023 AFF U-23 Cup will be held on August 17-26 in Thailand. Initially, this event will take place from October 31 to November 12.

Group A: Thailand, Cambodia, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar

Group B: Indonesia, Malaysia, Timor Leste

Group C: Vietnam, Philippines, Laos
