JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Erick Thohir announced the names of 20 U-22 national team players who will be brought to compete in the Cambodian SEA Games. Reported by Antara, on the list of players' names, there were no number of names that had previously defended the U-20 national team in the U-20 Asian Cup last March, such as Hokky Caraka, Ronaldo Kwateh, and Dony Tri Pamungkas. The centre-back who played in England's third-tier competition, Elkan Baggott, was also not included in the final list. Meanwhile, two other players who had careers abroad, namely Pratama Arhan (Tokyo Verdy) and Marselino Ferdinand (KMSK Deinze), were included in the squad to be brought to Cambodia. The second-ranked team of Liga 1 2022/2023 Persija Jakarta is the club that contributes the most players to the national team this time, which is four players. Followed by Borneo FC with a total of three players. Meanwhile, the PSM Makassar League 1 winning team contributed a total of two players. Of the total 20 players brought to the Cambodian SEA Games, there was one player who last season defended Liga 2 Persikab club Bandung Regency, Mohamad Haykal Alhafiz. However, when this news was written, Haykal had officially moved to PSIS Semarang. The U-22 national team will depart for Cambodia on April 24 or 25.
