Chery, an automotive manufacturer from China, recorded positive results in the Indonesian automotive market with a significant increase in sales. According to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), Chery managed to enter the top nine automotive brands in Indonesia in just one year of its presence in this market.

Qu Jizong, Executive Vice President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI), stated that this achievement was the result of the hard work and support of consumers and other related parties. This success builds a strong foundation, which is expected to have a positive impact on the Indonesian automotive industry.

"This strong consolidation is also the basis for continuing to be with Indonesian consumers to move on to the vision of sustainable mobility," said Qu Jizong in an official statement received by VOI, Wednesday, November 15.

In 2023, Chery relies on the Tiggo Pro and Omoda 5 series, which have sold 3,418 units as of October 2023. Of the total sales, Omoda 5 contributed 75 percent.

From November 2022 to November 2023, sales of Chery in Indonesia continued to increase, with an average sales of 400 units per month from the Tiggo 7 Pro, Tiggo 8 Pro, and Omoda 5 models that are currently popular on the market.

Chery has built a dealers network with 48 services out of a target of 60 facilities in all major cities in Indonesia. Through this dealer, Chery will facilitate transactions and provide the best service to consumers, while continuing to add new models to its product portfolio.

In addition to the success of sales, Chery's popularity has increased with the achievements of Omoda 5, which won seven awards during his presence in Indonesia, including the 'Most Driver Car' award at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), and four awards for the Tiggo Pro series.
