In Addition To The US, Tesla Expands Fast Charger Networks To The UK

JAKARTA - Tesla's ultra-fast charging stations with advanced infrastructure to fill electric vehicles (EVs) are interested in not only vehicle manufacturers.

The EG Group, one of the operators of the British gas station, has officially purchased the facility unit to strengthen EV charging networks across Europe. The company is targeting to have more than 20,000 network chargers as time goes on, with 600 others being used for now.

Reporting from Reuters, Monday, November 13, the EG Group will install the charger by the end of this year. Thus, the facility can be accessed by all EV models of various brands.

The fast installation of reliable and easy-to-use electric vehicle charging infrastructure is the right step towards a sustainable future, Rebecca Tinucci, as senior director of Tesla's charging infrastructure.

The adoption of electric vehicles is seen as key to achieving climate goals in the UK and Europe, and the auto industry has called for a faster expansion of the public charging network to encourage vehicle users to make a switch to electrification.

In February, Tesla said it would partially open its US charging network to its rivals as part of a US$7.5 billion federal program to expand EV infrastructure and reduce carbon emissions.

So far, manufacturers who have collaborated with Tesla are Toyota, Lexus, Honda, BMW, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Ford, GM, Rivian, Jaguar, Fisker, Kia, Hyundai, Genesis, and Subaru.
