National Police Chief Sigit Doesn't Limit Policewomen's Career Levels

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit stated that he would not limit the career path of female policewomen or policewomen in the Bhayangkara Corps. So, they can achieve the highest career in the police.

"I am the National Police Chief not limiting the space for fellow policewomen to be able to have a career as high as possible," said Sigit in his remarks at The Tribrata, South Jakarta, Tuesday, December 17.

According to him, the quality of the policewomen is no less good than that of male police officers. Thus, the Police under their leadership will prioritize gender equality.

In fact, Sigit hopes that later there will be policewomen who will occupy the highest position as Chief of Police.

"We also want in the future there will be a National Police Chief from the policewomen," he said.

"Of course this must be prepared as well as possible in terms of quality, in my opinion, it is not inferior to the male, it is only a matter of how the continuity prepares the existing cadre cadres," continued Sigit.

On the other hand, Sigit also conveyed that one of the advantages of policewomen compared to male police officers was to reduce tension in conflict-prone situations.

"The presence of policewomen in the field with the feminism that is owned by these policewomen will certainly be able to make it subside when we face situations that have the potential for conflict," said Sigit.
