JAKARTA - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) thwarted the smuggling of 15 kg of methamphetamine and 10,345 ecstasy pills from Malaysia that were smuggled into Indonesia through Aceh.

From the disclosure of this case, BNN secured 3 (three) suspects, namely AI, LAH, and FA, with evidence of narcotics as much as 15,001.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 10,345 ecstasy pills.

"After hiding in a bag that he was carrying using his vehicle," said Sugiri.

Based on AI's confession, BNN received information about the type of methamphetamine he took in the roadside alley of Prof. A Majid Ibrahim, Langsa City, Aceh, from someone with the initials LAH.

On the same day, the BNN team then pursued and managed to secure the lah in the rice fields behind the house which is located at Setia Bakti Hamlet, Lhok Banie Village, West Langsa, Langsa City, Aceh.

"From the search conducted at the house belonging to the LAH, the BNN team found two packs of Chinese tea packages, which contained 10,345 ecstasy pills weighing 3,021.8 grams," said Sugiri.

The package of Chinese tea filled with ecstasy was stored in a sack that reads 'Cap Melati Dua' which is hidden in the washing machine.

During the investigation, the suspect LAH gave a statement that the ecstasy found by BNN at his house was ordered by a person with the initials FA.

Then, on Saturday (24/8), at around 08.00 WIB, the BNN team managed to secure the FA at the shophouse in Rukun Kel Hamlet. Blang Kec. Langsa Kota, Aceh.

"The suspect FA admitted that the ecstasy narcotics that were at the house were his which he entrusted to be kept at the house," he said.

The suspects were charged under Article 114 (2) in conjunction with Article 112 (2) in conjunction with Article 132 (1) of Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with a maximum threat of the death penalty or life imprisonment.
