Increase PAD, City Government Takes Over Parking Management In Bengkulu

BENGKULU - The Bengkulu City Government (Pemkot) continues to look for sources to increase local revenue or PAD. For this reason, the City Government will take over the management of parking fees in Bengkulu starting December 2023.

Head of the Bengkulu City Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Eddyson said that during the last two years the parking zone levy was managed by third parties or the private sector.

In improving this PAD, the management of parking fees will be carried out by the Bengkulu City Government through the appointment of a Parking Officer (Jukir) who is given a Task Order (SPT).

"Yes, this month all cooperation contracts with the private sector have ended. Later starting in December we will return to the appointment of the jukir directly," he said in Bengkulu, Wednesday, November 22, which was confiscated by Antara. He said that the realization of revenue from parking fees managed by third parties or CV was suspected of not being deposited into the regional treasury (Kasda) in accordance with applicable regulations. He explained that at the beginning of the running contract the Bengkulu City Government should receive Rp. 6 billion, but only Rp. 2.8 billion was received, so he received the spotlight from APH. "The return of the management of the parking zone to this government, as well as the results of input submitted from law enforcement officials," he said.

Eddyson menjelaskan, dari total 12 zona parkir yang di kelola oleh pihak ketiga, 11 di antaranya pada Desember 2023 telah habis masa kontraknya dan satu zona yaitu zona 6 akan habis kontraknya pada Februari 2024. Oleh karena itu, pada 2024, Pemkot Bengkulu menetapkan target PAD retribusi parkir sebesar Rp11 miliar, jumlah tersebut lebih besar jika dibandingkan pada target 2023 yaitu Rp9 miliar. "Untuk sementara ini baru tercapai 50 persen dan kita sudah menyurati pihak ketiga pengelola parkir tersebut agar paling lama Desember ini sisanya harus terbayarkan semua," pungkasnya.
