The Chairman Of Commission II Angry That The KPU Did Not Attend The PKPU Meeting On The Constitutional Court's Decision Because It Was Abroad

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission II of the DPR Ahmad Doli Kurnia was furious that the PKPU discussion meeting after the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the decision on the minimum age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates was not attended by the KPU. In fact, the KPU has sent a letter to Commission II of the DPR since November 6, 2023, which is of an important nature.

"Well, usually when we discuss or there is a request for consultation of draft regulations, be it the KPU, Bawaslu are all present, especially the DKPP. But today, no one from the KPU is present," said Doli when opening the RDP at Commission II of the DPR, Monday, November 20.

Originally, Commission II of the DPR held an RDP with the Director General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, KPU, Bawaslu and DKPP for the agenda of consulting on the adjustment of PKPU results from the Supreme Court's decision and consulting Draft Per Bawaslu today, at 10.00 WIB. However, it turned out that the KPU could not fulfill the invitation because all commissioners were abroad.

"So we just received the letter of acceptance on Sunday, the request for a postponement because everything is abroad. I don't know, what is the procedure for managing the office, maybe not a single commissioner including the secretary general is not in the country. We are here, who are currently busy with electoral district affairs, so someone has to come," said the Golkar legislator.

Doli was surprised if all members and leaders and secretaries of the KPU were abroad, then how would they be held accountable. Should it also be reported to the DKPP, even though important discussions about PKPU cannot be postponed because the 2024 election is only a matter of days.

"I don't know what to report about this DKPP. Then who will take care of the office here? Who will discuss thejwab, right? Even though they sent a letter of application that is important, and we Commission II are always committed if there is a letter related to the implementation of elections, either the application for authority or PKPU, we never postpone it, we are the top priority," said Doli.

Doli then noted that the KPU's attitude was included in the ethical violation that had to be considered by the DKPP.

"So this is our record before we start, especially is this DKPP a violation of ethics or not? Is it work management Ethics, sir? When all the offices were left, all the secretary-general went," he added.
