JAKARTA - Presidential candidate Anies Baswedan explained the reason he gave space for his vice presidential candidate, Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) to give a speech after receiving serial numbers in the 2024 presidential election.

This is different from other presidential and vice presidential pairs. Where, the remarks were expressed by the presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and Ganjar Pranowo. According to Anies, he wants to show that the position of vice presidential candidate is equivalent to that of his presidential candidate.

"We are dead. Replace. And we want to show that the vice president has the same caliber. The vice president has very good experience, knowledge, and ability to communicate," said Anies at the KPU RI office, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 14.

Anies also admitted that he was proud of the content of Cak Imin's speech, which likened the election contestation to a football match. This illustration, for Anies, is easy for others to understand.

"Football everyone knows. Everyone knows what a tackle is, and everyone knows it, making players who cheat. Everyone knows referees who are well-certified. Messages are easy to catch. This is a message to all that we are a double partner, complement each other, and can fill each other out," explained Anies.

The 10 minutes given by the KPU to each of the three pairs of candidates for presidential and vice presidential elections in 2024 after determining the serial number was taken by Muhaimin Iskandar as the vice presidential candidate Anies Baswedan candidate pair number 1.

In his speech, Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin invited three candidate pairs for the 2024 presidential election to compete in a healthy manner so that people enjoy this five-year democratic party.

"We are also very happy and grateful that in the end each presidential and vice-presidential candidate prepares itself well so that we arrive at one stage committed to carrying out the election with a happy spirit," said Cak Imin in his speech.

Cak Imin also invited the other two candidate pairs to maintain the Indonesian political climate even though it was undeniable that it would be hot with competition until the announcement of the winner of the 2024 presidential election.

"At the same time, we want to fill the election with ideas, ideas, ideals, starting from track records, track records and various vision and mission that we have in full," he said.

This call was also greeted with applause by Anies Baswedan who accompanied Cak Imin on the podium delivering a speech.

Tonight, the presidential and vice presidential candidates have drawn serial numbers for the 2024 presidential election. As a result, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar received number one, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka received number two, and Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD received number three.

When opening the tube containing the serial number, the pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates compactly greeted their fingers. Anies-Cak Imin raised his index finger, Prabowo-Gibran brandished two fingers such as the peace symbol, and Ganjar-Mahfud raised three fingers like metal greetings.
