U-17 World Cup, PLN Presents Digitalization To Monitor Electricity Supply At Stadium

JAKARTA - The performance of the PLN Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit in supporting the smooth running of the U-17 World Cup match at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) deserves praise. Supported by the reliable electricity system from PLN, the series of U-17 World Cup matches at JIS are all expected to be presented smoothly.

It is known, PLN presents the digitization of direct electricity monitoring in four venues. The U-17 World Cup itself was held in Jakarta, Bandung, Solo and Surabaya. In the preliminary round, JIS hosted the Group C. Saturday 11 November (2023) night, football fans watched England slaughter New Caledonia 10-0, and Iran beat Brazil 3-2.

At the U-17 World Cup alert post at JIS, PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) Jakarta Raya has prepared a 'Distribution Command Center' (DCC) 'Mobile'.

DCC 'Mobile' is PLN's innovation in the form of digitizing monitoring of electrical conditions, starting from the supply side and using'real time' at the event location.

The presence of DCC 'Mobile' at the time of the U17 World Cup is very helpful for PLN officers to monitor and measure electricity loads to ensure there is no anomaly in the electricity supply.

General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya Lasiran revealed that PLN implemented a 4-layer electricity supply at JIS as well as a 2-layer electricity supply throughout the training ground and athletes' hotels, therefore supply security must be monitored in real time

During the event, PLN officers were on alert directly at the location, namely in electrical panels, distribution substations, UPS, and also at the Mobile Distribution Control Center (DCC). Periodically, officers carry out monitoring and measuring the electricity load. The incoming report must of course be monitored in real time, "explained Lasiran in a written statement, November 13.

PLN UID Jakarta Raya has also prepared 5 special standby posts, 276 joint personnel, 4 Mobile Substation Units with a capacity of 4,000 kVA, 13 'Uninterruptible Power Supply' with a capacity of 2,800 kVa, 18 engineering service cars, 23 technical service motors, and 4 crane cars.
