Colombian President Threatens To Drag Netanyahu To International Court

JAKARTA - The now increasingly severe Israeli-Palestinian conflict continues to be highlighted by the world. Colombian President Gustavo Petro said the government's legal team was preparing a lawsuit against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be brought to all international courts.

This is not the first time Petro has threatened to sue Israel since the Israeli-Palestinian conflict began in Gaza.

Petro has announced that "Colombia will help" the lawsuit Algeria will file to the International Criminal Court "on war crimes committed by Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu," in connection with the war against Hamas.

"The Colombian Foreign Minister will meet with the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court tomorrow," Petro said in a message via platform X, Thursday.

Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune has asked human rights defenders to bring Israel to the International Criminal Court for "the crimes it has committed against Palestinians in Gaza".

"I urge all independent people in the world, Arab law experts and organizations and human rights institutions to file a complaint to the International Criminal Court and international human rights organizations against Israeli entities, to end decades of impunity over crimes committed against Palestinians," Tebboon said Monday.

Colombian president, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, November 11, condemned Israeli attacks on Gaza through social media and his speech. He even threatened to freeze diplomatic relations with Israel.

Israel launched non-stop air and landstrikes in the Gaza Strip since Hamas attacked them on October 7.

At least 11,078 Palestinians were killed, including 4,506 children and 3,027 women. Meanwhile, according to official data, the death toll in Israel has nearly reached 1,600.
