Kapolda: The Threat Of The Rise Of Terrorism Cells In East Java Is Under Control

SURABAYA - The U-17 World Cup which will be held at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) is confirmed safe. East Java Police Chief Inspector General Imam Sugianto claimed the threat of terrorism was also safe under control.

"For the matter of terrorism, God willing, hopefully everything will be under control," said Imam in Surabaya, Tuesday, November 7.

According to him, the Densus 88 Task Force team continues to work, to ensure the potential threat of terrorism during the U-17 World Cup in Surabaya.

"The Densus 88 Task Force Team continues to work, hopefully under good control," he said.

As is known, Gelora Bung Tomo (GBT) Surabaya was appointed as one of the venues for the U-17 World Cup.

The U-17 World Cup teams that will compete in Surabaya are the Indonesian national teams, Panama, Ecuador, Morocco, Mali, and Canada as well as the results of the state team that will qualify in the round of 16.

The U-17 World Cup match will be held on November 10.13.16, 2023 in the group stage, and November 21 in the round of 16.

To secure the international event, 3,393 joint personnel were alerted.

Head of the Operational Bureau of the East Java Police, Kombes Puji Santosa, said that the thousands of personnel deployed were not only from the Police, but also from the TNI, Satpol PP and several related agencies.

In addition, there are also 368 medical personnel and 8 referral hospitals provided for 24 hours during the event.

The 8 hospitals are dr. Soetomo Hospital, BDH Surabaya Hospital, Mitra Keluarga Satelit Surabaya Hospital, National Hospital, PHC Surabaya Hospital, Semen Gresik Hospital, Mayapada Hospital Surabaya and Premiere Hospital.
