KAI Commuter Anticipates Surge In Passengers Related To Palestine's Bela Action

PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia or KAI Commuter anticipates a surge in passengers related to a peaceful protest to defend Palestine at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta, Sunday.

"KAI Commuter anticipates to be able to serve commuter line users today. KAI Commuter has added security personnel in the station area and if necessary KAI Commuter will also set a pattern of KRL travel operations following the situation across," said KAI Commuter Vice President Corporate Secretary Anne Purba quoted from Antara, Sunday.

KAI Commuter, continued Anne, added security personnel from internal and elements of the TNI/Polri at stations close to the aspiration delivery activities, such as Juanda Station, Central Jakarta, and Gondangdia Station, Central Jakarta.

"KAI Commuter has also alerted 30 security personnel at each of the stations and alerted rescue cars and ambulances as well as medical personnel for service support," Anne said.

KAI Commuter also opens a portable counter to anticipate services for ticket purchases.

For safety and comfort, KAI Commuter also applies a system of opening and closing queues of users who will enter the station platform area if the situation is already crowded.

KAI Commuter has also alerted service officers to assist with services at these stations.

"In today's commuter line travel operational service operating as many as 1,065 trips, KAI Commuter will also anticipate by engineering the operating pattern situationally according to conditions across," said Anne.

From Antara's observations in the field, KAI Commuter also recorded a significant increase in the number of users who fell at Gondangdia Station and Juanda Station on Sunday morning.

As of 09.00 WIB, at Gondangdia Station there were 21,606 people who disembarked and Juanda Station 19,215 people.

KAI Commuter also appealed to all KRL users to continue to prioritize safety and security and follow directions and instructions from officers at the station.

Meanwhile, for users who carry children, make sure the children are always under surveillance during the trip and for users waiting in the platform area, always prioritize users who will exit and stand not to cross the safe line and block users who will exit the commuter line.
