Raids In Semarang Prison, Officers Find Cellphones To Pisau Rakitan

SEMARANG - Semarang prison officer, Central Java secured two cell phones and a homemade knife in a raid conducted in two blocks of his prison.

Head of Semarang Prison Usman Madjid said the raids, which were held on Friday, November 3, were officers securing a number of cell phone charging equipment, scissors and various power lines.

During the raid, he said, officers asked all residents of the two blocks residents to leave the room.

Officers also conducted urine checks on 14 inmates who were randomly selected.

"From the urine examination of 14 inmates, all of them were negative," he said.

Usman said the raid was part of preventing the circulation of prohibited goods in prisons, including electrical installations that could potentially cause fires.

Until now, he continued, the number of residents of Semarang Prison has reached 1,685 people exceeding the specified capacity.

Usman held a raid to ensure that Semarang Prison was free from the circulation of cell phones, drugs, and liquor.

He expressed his gratitude to the police and TNI personnel who participated in the raid.
