Kajari: Investigation Of Allegations Of Corruption In Kudus KONI Grant Funds For Progress In Sports Development

JAKARTA - The Head of the Kudus District Attorney's Office (Kajari) Henriyadi W. Putro emphasized the investigation into the alleged corruption case of grant funds from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Kudus in order to advance sports development.

"Our hope is that this law enforcement goal to restore the real KONI function so that Kudus has a really optimal sports management," said Henriyadi in Kudus, Central Java, Friday, November 3, as quoted by Antara.

Moreover, he continued, in Kudus Regency there are many athletes who have potential so they need to be given a wider opportunity to excel.

He hopes that through law enforcement this can change the mindset of KONI management, especially in the use of grant funds so that they are in accordance with their designation.

"Even if you want to pay the past debt of activities, in the manuscript of the Regional Grant Agreement (NPHD) it must also be explained that there is a portion of the budget to pay off debts," he said.

In investigating cases of alleged violations of the use of KONI grant funds in 2022, one of them is related to accountability reports to pay debts.

Based on witness testimony, said Kajari, there is a grant budget post used to pay KONI's debt. This will be proven whether it is true or not.

"If so, there must be a rule that explains that it can be financed there first so that later it can be paid in the next budget. Meanwhile, there is no what happened," he said.

He also hopes that in law enforcement there will be a return on state losses, because the preliminary calculation results show the value of state losses of up to Rp1.6 billion.

"It is better to return it if the accountability is not appropriate. Until now, there has been no return of state losses," he said.

The value of state losses found by the Holy Prosecutor's Office is different from the results of the previous BPK examination. At that time, BPK found that the use of the budget was not in accordance with its designation and there had been a return from KONI.

Meanwhile, other findings from the budget that are not supported by complete evidence of using the BPK budget recommend to the Kudus Inspectorate to prove their time constraints.

On the recommendation of the BPK, the Kudus Inspectorate confirmed to various parties the use of the budget of Rp. 322 million from Kudus KONI in the 2022 fiscal year.

As a result, some of the budgets can indeed be accounted for, while some others cannot be accounted for, but by KONI Kudus it is returned to the regional treasury.

In the 2022 fiscal year, KONI Kudus received a grant from the Education, Youth and Sports Office of Rp. 10.9 billion, with details from the pure APBD of Rp. 8.4 billion and from the 2022 Revised APBD of Rp. 2.5 billion.
