DPR Leader: Possible Fit And Proper Test Candidate For TNI Commander 15 Or November 16

JAKARTA - The leadership of the DPR RI stated that the fit and proper test for the candidate for the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto will likely be carried out on November 15 or 16. Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Dasco, said that the leadership of the new DPR will hold a meeting of the leadership and deliberation body (Bamus) next week. So that the new DPR leadership will assign the new DPR Commission I to implement the applicable mechanism. "We will do Rapim and Bamus next week, approximately on Tuesday. Then the series of fit and proper, there are several things that must be done by Commission I of the DPR which will be assigned," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, November 2. Dasco said the possibility of a fit and proper will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, or Thursday, November 16, 2023. He ensured that the DPR would carry out a fit and proper test process in accordance with the applicable mechanism. "So in my opinion, we will just track it according to the schedules that will be determined by the Rapim (leader meeting) and Bamus (business body). Maybe the estimated fit and proper between the 15th or 16th is about that," explained Dasco. Previously, Commission I of the DPR scheduled a fit and proper test for the candidate for TNI commander on November 14. It is known that the DPR has received a presidential letter (Surpres) to replace Admiral Yudo Margono with the sole candidate for KSAD General Agus Subiyanto. "More or less like that (On November 14, ed)," said Chairman of Commission I of the DPR Meutya Hafid to reporters, Wednesday, November 1. However, Meutya said, the fit and proper test of TNI General Agus Subiyanto could be faster if there was a request from the leadership of the DPR. "But we will see the progress, if the leadership of the DPR lowers it faster, we can make it faster," said Meutya.

Nevertheless, Meutya revealed, Commission I of the DPR is still waiting for an assignment from the leadership of the DPR to carry out a fit and proper test against Agus Subiyanto. Currently, he said, the assignment letter is still in the DPR RI deliberative body (Bamus). "The point is that before the 21st, the DPR must be brought to the plenary session," he added.
