Hasto Alludes To Indonesian Democracy Tested By Nepotism In Front Of Delegations Of 9 Countries

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said Indonesian democracy is currently being tested.

This was conveyed when he received a delegation of nine countries at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, Saturday, October 28.

Initially, he mentioned the chairman of the PDIP DPP Ahmad Basarah who wore a black party uniform before giving a speech. In fact, he was wearing a red shirt.

And it's true, it reflects how democracy is currently being tested. Yes, because of the birth of nepotism. So, we have to consider this," Hasto said at the event.

In this event, Hasto had introduced Ahmad Basarah as a delegation. Those present were from Thailand and the Philippines.

These nine delegates were present to take part in a workshop with the theme 'From Opposition to Become a Ruling Party: The Best Practice of Party Management'.

"Mr. Ahmad Basarah, please stand up. He is the Chair of the DPP for Foreign Affairs, Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI. This is the highest deliberation body, so he is a very important person," he said.

Meanwhile, Basarah said that his party did have two uniforms. In addition to the black color he wears, there is also a red color commonly used by cadres.

"The black uniform is to describe my atmosphere of grief towards the democratization process in Indonesia which leads to one act beyond the principles of democracy and justice," said Basarah.

"I think this is our mood, but we still have to appear smiling to the public to make the stages of our election, both the legislative elections and the presidential election, we must make the people's democracy a party, a happy party, an encouraging party no matter how hurt our current feelings," concluded the Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI.
