Padang Police Investigate Case Of Obscenity Of 12 Elementary School Students

PADANG - Padang City Police (Polresta), West Sumatra (West Sumatra), continues to investigate cases of alleged sexual abuse experienced by a number of private elementary school (SD) students.

"Until now, we are still investigating the case by conducting an investigation to uncover the case," said Head of the Padang Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) Kompol Dedy Adriansyah Putra, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 27.

He said that since the initial report was received by his party in August 2023, the total number of victims who have reported to the Padang Police so far is 12 people.

"We received the initial report around August 2023, over time, other victims at the same school also reported up to a total of twelve reports," he said.

Dedy said that his party had asked for information from the victim, witnesses, and the reported party. The reported party in the case numbered one person with the male gender with the initials Y.

From the temporary examination, he said, it was known that the alleged obscenity occurred in the school environment where the victim went to school.

In an effort to process the case, said Dedy, his party through the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the Padang Police Satreskrim will also ask for information from a number of experts.

"Expert information is needed to convince and make clear a criminal act in this case," he explained.

He said that in the near future his party would also conduct a case against the cases that had been reported by the victims.

Previously, the case had gone viral on social media, after one of the elementary school students claimed to have been a victim of sexual harassment.
