Yenny Wahid Says Goodbye To Prabowo Before Supporting Ganjar-Mahfud In The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The son of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrachman Wahid or Gus Dur, Yenny Wahid admitted that he had said goodbye to Prabowo Subianto to support the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

It is known that Yenny visited Prabowo Subianto's house on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta on Wednesday, September 6. He once conveyed the Minister of Defense (Menhan) as a figure who could continue the current government.

"I met with the closest people (Prabowo, ed) and I have conveyed (supporting Ganjar-Mahfud, ed)," Yenny told reporters at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta, Friday, October 27.

He didn't want to talk about who he met. While meeting Prabowo in person, Yenny admitted that she had not done it.

"I didn't meet Mr. Prabowo in person," he said.

As previously reported, Yenny officially supports Ganjar-Mahfud. This decision was taken after considering and hearing aspirations about other candidates in the 2024 presidential election, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

There are a number of considerations that he mentioned, including the closeness of Mahfud MD to Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). Mahfud is also considered a figure who instills Gus Dur's value in his daily life and is consistent in law enforcement.
