JAKARTA - Former President Director of the Agency for Telecommunication and Information (BAKTI), Anang Achmad Latif, was found guilty in a case of alleged corruption in the 4G BTS project. The prosecutor charged him with imprisonment for 18 years.

"(Requesting the panel of judges) Sentencing the defendant Anang Achmad Latif with a prison sentence of 18 years reduced completely by the length of time the defendant was detained with an order that the defendant remains in detention," said the prosecutor during a trial at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, October 25.

In their demands, the prosecutor assessed that Anang Achmad Latif was also legally proven and convincingly committed the crime of money laundering.

Thus, the former Director of BAKTI was also charged with a fine of Rp. 1 billion. If you do not have the ability, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 12 months.

In addition, Anang was also accused of paying a replacement money of Rp. 5 billion.

"It charges the defendant to pay a replacement money of Rp. 5 billion, a subsidiary of 9 years," said the prosecutor.

Anang Achmad Latif is believed to have violated Article 2 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code and the second primary indictment of Article 3 of the Law on the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU).

For information, Anang Achmad Latif as the President Director of BAKTI and the power of budget user (KPA) was charged with receiving IDR 5 billion from the 4G BTS project.

In addition, there were also several other defendants such as Johnny G. Plate, Yohan Suryanto, Irwan Hermawan, Windi Purnama, and Muhammad Yusrizki who also received money in the project. As a result of their actions caused state losses of Rp. 8,032,084,133,795.51.
