Vice President's Message To Santri In Political Year: Be Careful With Provocation

The Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin asked all parties, including students, to be wise in responding to differences, including not being easily provoked at the moment of the 2024 General Election.

"Here we have to guard. We have to be careful with provocations," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at the VII National Gathering (Silatnas) of the Indonesian Agribusiness Santri Contacts (Consain) at the Syaichona Cholil Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), Sepinggan, South Balikpapan, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), Tuesday, October 24, confiscated by Antara.

The Vice President conveyed that provocations were solely carried out by irresponsible parties who wanted to see divisions in Indonesia. Thus, the Vice President emphasized that prudence is a necessity.

"Now facing elections, I have to protect against those who want to destroy, pit against each other, I say be careful," he said.

He conveyed that this caution is part of the national agreement of the founders of the nation which aims to continue to maintain Indonesian unity, and maintain unity is one of the responsibility of the students.

"This is part of the national agreement. Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is a national consensus, a national agreement. I say it is al mitsaqul wathani. Therefore, we must not injure mitsaqul wathani. If we injure these principles, then we are referred to as mukhalafatul mitsaq, violating the agreement," he said.

"Who threatens you (the state), he will mourn because he will deal with students throughout Indonesia," added the Vice President.

Closing his remarks, the Vice President advised the students to continue to rise to bring the spirit of improvement in bringing Indonesia to a better direction.

"Let's revive the students as rijalul muslihin (bringing improvements), santri as khafadzatun wathan, guardian of the country, and santri as mu'ammirinal artha, as the earth's maker," explained the Vice President.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor of East Kalimantan Akmal Malik said that his area is a very conducive place in providing education to students.

He hopes that this atmosphere can support the creation of superior human resources for students, which can bring progress to the region, nation and state.

"God willing, the students will always be the main force in building East Kalimantan in the future," he said.
