Tigers In Siak, Riau KSDA BB Installs Trap Cameras

JAKARTA - The Center for Conservation and Natural Resources of Riau Province has installed a trap camera because there are reports of the appearance of a Sumatran tiger in kilometer 14 in Doral Village, Pusako District, Siak Regency at the location of an industrial plant forest company. (HTI) "The Sumatran tiger has been taken steps by installing a camera trap as many as one unit," said Head of BB KSDA Riau, Genman Hasibuan, quoting Antara, Sunday. He said the appearance of the tiger at km 14 was allegedly due to the presence of cattle being herded and roaming inside the HTI concession. According to the data, at that location there was indeed a cow that was eaten by the tiger. Initially, BB KSDA received a report from the company PT Arara Abadi along with recordings of tiger videos. Furthermore, the Siak Resort Team coordinated with the security side of the company on guard to ask about the video.

"It is confirmed that a tiger can be seen in the HTI concession area at km 14 in the area so that it is known that the tiger's presence is still in its natural habitat and is still one stretch of the Zamrud National Park area," he said.

Atas kondisi tersebut, BB KSDA Riau mengimbau pekerja atau masyarakat di sekitar untuk berhati-hati dalam beraktivitas. Terutama pada waktu harimau sumatera aktif, yakni pada sore sampai pagi hari dan diimbau juga jangan beraktivitas seorang diri.Kemunculan harimau di Siak dilaporkan beberapa kali di sejumlah kecamatan. Bahkan ada yang telah sampai di ibukota Kecamatan Siak yakni Siak Sri Inderapura pada awal tahun ini.Ada satu orang yang meninggal dunia diduga diserang oleh harimau tersebut, namun hingga kini belum ditemukan si belang tersebut. Terakhir kemunculan harimau dilaporkan pada Juli 2023 lalu di Kecamatan Bungaraya.
