Mahfud MD Make Sure To Get Leave When Registering With KPU Tomorrow

JAKARTA - Candidate for vice president (cawapres) Ganjar Pranowo, Mahfud MD has been allowed leave when registering with the General Elections Commission (KPU) on Thursday, October 19 tomorrow. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has given the green light.

"Yes. Already, I have permission to leave for tomorrow," Mahfud told reporters at the National Archives building of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 18.

Mahfud explained that ministerial-level officials who will run in the 2024 presidential election are indeed allowed to take leave. "For example (when, red) registration, then campaign, then health tests. I have conveyed that," he said.

As previously reported, the General Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri officially announced Mahfud MD as Ganjar's companion in the 2024 presidential election. This decision was taken after the contemplation was carried out and had a dialogue with the general chairmen and other figures.

"Bismillahirrohmanirrohim, then the vice presidential candidate chosen by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle who will accompany Mr. Ganjar Pranowo is Prof. Dr. Mahfud MD," said Megawati at the PDIP DPP Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, October 18.

As for the announcement of the vice presidential candidate, all general chairmen of the party carrying Ganjar were present, such as Plt Chairman of PPP Muhamad Mardiono, Chairman of the Hanura Party Oesman Sapta Odang, Chairman of the Perindo Party Hary Tanoesoedibjo, and Chairman of the National Winning Team Ganjar Presiden (TPN GP) Arsjad Rasyid.

Then were PDIP officials, such as PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, PDIP General Treasurer Olly Dondokambey, PDIP DPP Chairperson who is also Megawati's son, Prananda Prabowo and Puan Maharani and other cadres.
