Resigning From Ancol Commissioner, Sutiyoso Is Called Anies Volunteer

JAKARTA - Former Governor of DKI Jakarta Sutiyoso officially resigned from the position of Commissioner of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk. This was revealed by the President Director of Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Winarto in the information disclosure of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).

Winarto said Sutiyoso's resignation letter had been submitted to management and shareholders as of October 13, 2023.

"So together we report that the Company has accepted the application for resignation from Mr. Sutiyoso from his position as Commissioner through a letter requesting his resignation on October 13, 2023," said Winarto, quoted on Tuesday, October 18.

Furthermore, Sutiyoso's resignation letter will be followed up by shareholders through the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS).

"For the acceptance of the resignation application, the Company will then follow up on it in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.

Meanwhile, former Commissioner of Ancol, Geisz Chalifah revealed that Sutiyoso resigned from his position because he would join as a volunteer for presidential candidate Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election.

Geisz left the position of Commissioner of Ancol in January 2023 because he wanted to help win Anies in the presidential election.

"Welcome to join Bang Yos with us Anies Baswedan volunteers. Positions are not important when the struggle calls. This is what distinguishes us (Anies' volunteers) from them. We leave Positions to fight. They fight for positions," said Geisz in the X account @GeiszChalifah.

In August 2022, Anies Baswedan while still the Governor of DKI Jakarta appointed Sutiyoso as Commissioner of Ancol. Thus, Sutiyoso served for one year. Sutiyoso is also now resigning from the position of President Commissioner of PT Jaya Konstruksi Manggala Pratama Tbk. (JKON).
