Novel Baswedan Alleges Extortion By The KPK Is Not New

JAKARTA - Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Novel Baswedan suspects that extortion of litigants is not new. He received information that not only former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo was the victim but there were also other parties.

This was conveyed by Novel in a YouTube show entitled 'BOCORAN!!! Not only the Minister of Agriculture, is there also a Head of the Riceed Region?'. This video was uploaded on his account, Novel Baswedan and has been watched by around tens of thousands of people.

"I received information that there was a regional head who was also a victim of extortion," Novel said as quoted on Monday, October 16.

Novel did not specify who the regional head was. "From the information we got, it means that the allegations are very strong that there are many victims of extortion," he said.

The former employee who was eliminated due to failing to pass the employee status transfer test then considered this condition interesting. Because, the perpetrators mean taking advantage of their authority to gain profits.

"He extorts, maybe receives gratuities, bribes, all kinds of things are not fun. Make money, look for wealth," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK was in the spotlight because it was suspected that there was a leader who blackmailed former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo who had now been detained. This case is being handled by the Polda Metro Jaya and has entered the investigation stage.

As for the issue of extortion, there is a photo of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri and Syahrul Yasin Limpo meeting at a badminton field. Firli initially denied the meeting and admitted that he only met the NasDem Party politician at the cabinet meeting.

However, recently he confirmed the meeting at the badminton field. However, Firli said the meeting was attended by other parties.

In addition, he also said that the meeting took place before the KPK investigated allegations of corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture. This means, according to Firli, at that time Syahrul was not a litigant.

Even so, the police are still investigating the allegation. A total of 12 witnesses have been examined in this case, including Syahrul and the Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar.

Then there was a witness from the KPK who had been summoned and examined, namely Kevin Egananta. He is an aide to Firli Bahuri.
