JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) ensures that fifth-generation internet services (5G) operate fast in supporting the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

"We have prepared an internet network," said Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) Usman Kansong in Jimbaran, Badung Regency, Bali, Thursday, October 12, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that Kominfo collaborated with telecommunications operators to support fast internet services in the area.

According to him, internet services are carried out through the Directorate General of Post and Informatics (PPI) of the Ministry of Communication and Information.

In addition to ensuring strong internet services, Kominfo also ensures the optimization of frequency services during the world-class motorcycle racing event which will take place from October 13-15, 2023.

The frequency service is carried out through the Directorate General of Resources and Postal and Informatics Devices (SDPPI) of the Ministry of Communication and Information.

One takes care of the internet from PPI, and the other takes care of the frequency for communication with radio and handy talky tools. It needs frequency so that it doesn't interfere with flights, it must be regulated," he said.

Usman added that Kominfo also supports the publication of the MotoGP event to the public through press releases and reports.

Meanwhile, preparations for the implementation of world-class motorcycle racing have reached 100 percent.

Likewise, the world's motorcycle racing logistics needs have been sent to Lombok, both by sea and by air with an estimated cargo of around 525 tons.

On the other hand, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said the MotoGP series event in Indonesia was an attraction for tourists because it was expected to take place strictly with competition between racers.

"So this MotoGP is the second time Indonesia has hosted and will be very interesting because at the end of the race season this time the difference in numbers between the two highest racers is very close," said Sandiaga.

Meanwhile, the Head of the NTB Tourism Office, Jamaludin Malady, said that the 2023 MotoGP ticket had sold 91 percent of the total ticket of 69,800 tickets and it was estimated that demand would continue to increase.
