Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, Sandiaga: Concerned, Defending Sungkawa For All Victims

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno expressed his condolences to the victims of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He hopes that the disputed parties will immediately defuse tensions.

This statement was conveyed by Sandiaga in 'The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno' which was monitored online in Jakarta, Monday 9 October.

"We are very concerned, we are very furious, and condolences to all victims," he said.

He said tourism really depends on the stable security situation in various parts of the world.

Therefore, he hopes that each country will focus on escalating conflicts or easing tensions so that they are not sustainable.

Moreover, said Sandiaga, the conflict that has been going on in Russia and Ukraine has been going on for more than a year. He condemned all measures that hurt mankind's safety.

"I hope the situation recovers soon, both in Russia-Ukraine, as well as in the Middle East," said Sandiaga.

It is known that the conflict between Israel and Palestine escalated after Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked Israel with at least 5,000 rockets within 20 minutes on Saturday, October 7 morning local time.

In response, Israel declared war on Hamas and retaliated by launching airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which targets residential buildings, hospitals, and killing civilians.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said nearly 400 people, including children, were killed in Israeli attacks, while more than 2,000 others were injured since the attack began on Saturday 7/October evening local time.
