Police Find 5 Hectares Of Cannabis Fields In North Aceh

The North Aceh Resort Police (Polres) found a five-hectare marijuana field in Sawang District, the results of the development of the case of two local residents being caught in connection with a narcotics crime.

North Aceh Police Chief AKBP Deden Heksaputera Sanusi said the area of marijuana fields found was about five hectares, with varying types of plants, ranging from seeds to plants ready for harvest.

"It is estimated that with a total of 40 thousand cannabis stems, assuming 8 thousand cannabis stems per hectare," said Deden in Lhokseumawe as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 6.

Deden explained that the disclosure of this case began with the North Aceh Police Narcotics Opsnal Team on Friday (8/9) arresting a perpetrator with the initials A (32) in Gampong Sawang, Sawang District, with evidence of 18 kilograms of dried marijuana.

Suspect A admitted that the marijuana was obtained from suspect D (38), who acted as a garden keeper.

Furthermore, on Friday (6/10), the North Aceh Police Narcotics Opsnal Team led directly by AKBP Deden Heksaputra managed to arrest D at his residence, Gampong Sawang, Sawang District.

According to Deden, suspect D admitted that the marijuana was obtained directly from suspect A's garden. After hearing the information, the police and the perpetrators went straight to the garden, and found five marijuana fields.

"Furthermore, the destruction (cannabis fields) was carried out and some were taken for laboratory samples and evidence," he said.

As a result of his actions, the suspect and evidence were brought to the North Aceh Police for further investigation and investigation.
