FPRMI and DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Discuss Strategic Collaboration in the Digital Era

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Multimedia Editorial Leadership Forum (FPRMI) met with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, represented by the Assistant Government Secretary for the DKI Jakarta Province Regional Secretary, Sigit Wijatmoko.

In this enthusiastic meeting, the General Chair of FPRMI, Bernadus Wilson Lumi, highlighted the importance of building a strong partnership between FPRMI and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to face rapid developments in the world of media in the current digital era.

"The presence of the Pimred Forum is not only a forum for education and advocacy for journalists, but also an effort to enable synergy between the government and the media in conveying Jakarta's development programs to make them more advanced," said Wilson at City Hall, Jakarta, Monday, October 2.

Close Partnership

Meanwhile, Secretary General of FPRMI, Solihin, expressed his hope that this meeting would open the door to a closer partnership between the Provincial Government and FPRMI. He also emphasized the importance of supporting development programs in Jakarta, especially after the planned relocation of IKN in 2024.

On the other hand, the Chair of FPRMI DKI Jakarta, Abi Junaidi, explained that the existence of FPRMI was not to reduce the role of other journalistic organizations. Instead, the aim is to strengthen relations between journalists in Indonesia and respond to the challenges of growing digital media.

Assistant Government Secretary for the DKI Jakarta Province, Sigit Wijatmoko, sincerely welcomed FPRMI's visit. He acknowledged the important role of FPRMI in education and advocacy for journalists in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta.

"Of course, we really welcome FPRMI's visit. We hope that FPRMI will continue to be a leader in maintaining journalistic ethics among journalists and provide a fair space for local level officials to provide information about development programs at the lowest level, which will provide great benefits for the people of Jakarta," said Sigit Wijatmoko, accompanied by the Head of Information for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's Communication, Informatics and Statistics Service, Koharudin.
